Oak Hill Escape near Welshpool, Powys
Oak Hill Escape is the perfect place to unwind from the hustle & bustle of a busy life. Whether you are admiring the stars, watching the sunset, the Red Kites or just sitting back with the fire lit, it's easy to see that we have created a perfect escape for recharging your batteries.
There is just one luxury lodge & funky Geodesic Dome. Bot set on their own secluded spots ,with private decking on a beautiful Welsh hillside, overlooking the quiet hills. The hills and trees will be your morning view as you open the curtains looking out across the green expanse that surrounds this Mid Wales getaway. You are surrounded by green space, meadows left for wild flowers with paths cut through them and of course the many Oak Trees, some of which are over 400 years old.
As there is only one lodge and one dome, you will have privacy and this offers the perfect location for a romantic luxury break for a couple. The 2 are screened and a good distance away from each other. Alternatively, kids will love exploring the secret wooded areas and discover the very shallow stream to splash in (it dries up fully in Summer). There is so much space to enjoy.
After a 3-4 minute, 200 metre walk from the car park (some up a hillside path), kick off your boots in the covered porch outside and head into your own quirky lodge/dome. In the lodge there is one separate bedroom with a King Size bed, a shower room with toilet & sink, a kitchenette (mini kitchen) with microwave oven, fridge/freezer and the spacious, quirky main room with a sofa (converts to a double bed) to unwind in.
The dome is very bright and airy with a connecting toilet and shower and has a lovely little log burner. Gaze at the stars on a clear night through the large viewing ceiling.
There are plenty of plug sockets and the lodge is fully insulated to keep you warm in Winter and cooler in Summer. Outside is a picnic bench, fire pit (with cooking ) and seating to relax.
If you plan to bring a lot with you, then please just let us know and we can take it to your lodge on the quad and trailer. There is a wheel barrow anyway to help you move anything.
Luxury Wood Fired Hot Tubs
Oak Lodge and Hazel Dome each have private wood-fired hot tubs. The lovely wood-fired tubs are deep and specially designed for two - the perfect addition to a romantic stay. Relax in warm water under the stars or start the day listening to the birdsong. Want even more? Oak Lodg hot tub has a spa feature with relaxing bubbles.

Oak Lodge
Oak is a quirky lodge with a main room over five metres in diameter with high ceilings. There is also a kitchenette with microwave, gas hob, small fridge/freezer, drawers, a separate bedroom and shower room. Set in a gently sloping meadow on the hill a short walk along a grassy path from where you park your car. Due to the location up the hill, it is not suitable for those with any mobility issues. We do have a quad, trailer and even a chariot with a car seat if you needed to be transported there in style!
On the walk there, you'll pass polytunnels growing all manner of plants and vegetables, the wildflower meadow, wildlife pond, hidden wooded path and up to the views of the Welsh countryside.
Inside there's a comfortable King size bed with luxury bedding, duvet and pillows, so a good night's sleep is guaranteed.
Soft lighting, central heating, soft rugs and comfy sofa makes this fully insulated lodge perfect for relaxing whatever the weather.
To complete your relaxing holiday a private wood fired hot tub, just for two, is positioned just outside the lodge. You can enjoy the clear warm water whilst taking in the peaceful surroundings & views across the hills.
With the shower room inside the lodge you can enjoy a steaming hot shower. Soft towels, bathrobes and slippers are all provided.
Within the lodge there is a kitchenette with sink, hot & cold water, microwave oven, gas hob and a fridge/freezer. Plenty of kitchen utensils, crockery & cutlery are provided so cooking a meal is simple. If you would like to cook, salt and pepper are in the cupboard.

Hazel Geo Dome - Arriving Soon
Set near to the small woodland will be Hazel Geodesic Dome offering a really special space. The dome is flooded with light from the side windows (with curtains) and there is a wonderful large skylight allowing you to lay in bed and take in the night sky.
Along with a King size bed and soft sofa it's the perfect place to relax. There's a woodburning stove with soft rugs making this dome a lovely hideway whatever the weather.
Just outside on the decking is a separate shower & toilet, decking with log fire pit, a hut for cooking and a bbq.
With the bathroom nearby, you can enjoy a steaming hot shower.
