Oak Hill Escape near Welshpool, Powys
Oak Hill Escape is the perfect place to unwind from the hustle & bustle of a busy life. Whether you are admiring the stars, watching the sunset, the Red Kites or just sitting back with the fire lit, it's easy to see that we have created a perfect escape for recharging your batteries.
There is just one luxury lodge with private hot tub on a beautiful Welsh hillside, overlooking the quiet hills. The hills and trees will be your morning view as you open the curtains looking out across the green expanse that surrounds this Mid Wales getaway. You are surrounded by green space, meadows left for wild flowers with paths cut through them and of course the many Oak Trees, some of which are over 400 years old.
As there is only one lodge, you will have privacy and this offers the perfect location for a romantic luxury break for a couple. Alternatively, kids will love exploring the areas and discover the very shallow stream to splash in (it dries up fully in Summer). There is so much space to enjoy.
After a 3-4 minute, 300 metre walk from the car park (some up a hillside path), kick off your boots in the covered porch outside and head into your own quirky lodge. In the lodge there is one separate bedroom with a King Size bed, a shower room with toilet & sink, a kitchenette (mini kitchen) with microwave oven, fridge/freezer and the spacious, quirky main room with a large sofa (converts to a 115cm wide bed for 1 guest) to unwind in.
There are plenty of plug sockets (including USB A & C) and the lodge is fully insulated to keep you warm in Winter and cooler in Summer. Outside is a picnic bench, California Grill fire pit (with adjustable cooking heights) and seating to relax.
If you plan to bring a lot with you, then please just let us know and we can take it to your lodge on the quad and trailer. or our 4wd vehicle There is a wheel barrow / trolley anyway to help you move anything if needed.
Luxury Wood Fired Hot Tubs
Oak Lodge has a private wood-fired hot tub that heats up quickly. The lovely wood-fired tub is deep and specially designed for two and the perfect addition to a romantic stay (You would fit a little one over the age of 5 if wanted though). Relax in warm water under the stars or start the day listening to the birdsong. Want even more? Oak Lodge hot tub has a spa feature with relaxing bubbles.

Oak Lodge
Oak is a quirky lodge with a main room over five metres in diameter with high ceilings. There is a well equipped kitchenette, a separate cosy bedroom with King Size bed and a shower room.
The lodge is set in a gently sloping meadow on the hill a short walk along a grassy path from where you park your car. Due to the location up the hill, it is not suitable for those with any mobility issues. We do have a quad, trailer and even a chariot with a car seat if you needed to be transported there in style!
On the walk there, you'll pass polytunnels growing all manner of plants and vegetables, the wildflower meadow, wildlife pond, hidden wooded path and up to the views of the Welsh countryside. More plants and seeds are being added each year.
Inside there's a comfortable King size bed with luxury bedding, duvet and pillows, so a good night's sleep is guaranteed.
Dimmable lighting, central heating, Eco Bio Ethanol Stove (very similar to a log burner) soft rug and a large comfy sofa bed makes this fully insulated lodge perfect whatever the weather.
To complete your relaxing holiday break a private wood fired hot tub with bubbles, just for two, is positioned outside the lodge. You can enjoy the clear warm water whilst taking in the peaceful surroundings & views across the hills.
With the shower room inside the lodge you can enjoy a steaming hot shower. Soft towels, bathrobes and slippers are all provided.
Within the lodge there is a kitchenette with sink, hot & cold water, microwave oven, air fryer, gas hob and a fridge/freezer. Plenty of kitchen utensils, crockery & cutlery are provided so cooking a meal is simple. If you would like to cook, salt and pepper are in the cupboard.

Kitchenette with twin gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, air fryer, kettle, toaster, quartz sink, hot & cold water, full range of kitchen utensils and pans. Salt & pepper, oil, tea, coffee, sugar and milk are provided.
King size bed with all bedding, hot tub towels & bath towels.
Sofa bed (115cm across suitable for 1 larger or 2 smaller children perhaps). The sofa bed not come with towels, pillows or bedding so please bring your own.

Tea, coffee, sugar, milk are in the kitchenette when you arrive.
At some point in 2026 we will have a Geo dome. This will be set near to the small woodland and be very private.
Hazel Geodesic Dome will offer a really special space. The dome is flooded with light from the side windows (with curtains) and there is a wonderful large skylight allowing you to lay in bed and take in the night sky.
Along with a Super King size bed and soft sofa it's the perfect place to relax. There will be a wood burning stove with soft rugs making this dome a lovely hideaway whatever the weather.
Just outside on the decking is a separate shower & toilet, decking with log fire pit, a hut for cooking and a bbq.
With the private shower room adjacent, you can enjoy a steaming hot shower.
